Annular Solar Eclipse Coming Soon!

solar-eclipse-path

Where are YOU gonna be on October 14, 2023, around noon?? I HOPE you’re gonna be outside checking out the annular solar eclipse of the sun! The eclipse starts at 10:20 am, and ends at 1:25 pm, with totality at 11:48 am.

If you’re gonna be in Abilene, you’ll get a pretty good view; but, It won’t be the best, which is seeing it in TOTALITY. You can see by the map showing the path, that the best areas to see it are a bit to the west, and southwest.

Remember… Don’t look directly at the sun without some type of protection!!! You can use those cardboard “glasses” that are made specifically for this purpose, or a solar filter of the appropriate type, OR, you can make your own filter of smoked glass!

If you miss THIS solar eclipse, there’s another one in 2024. But, why not catch BOTH, starting with this one! If you miss both of these… Well, you’re gonna be out of luck seeing another one for quite awhile. Mark your calendar, and get outside to see this. Heck, it’s even on a Saturday!

I can’t wait! I MAY just travel to Midland to see this. 🙂
